Designed and developed in the 1970s Candlelight Oaks, is bounded by White Oak Bayou, Cole Creek and the "joint line" railway which proceeds north through Tomball, Teague, Corsicana, Waxahachie, and on to Fort Worth.

The small community was off the beaten path until West Tidwell was extended through the neighborhood in the late 1980s.

Chimes from Our Savior Lutheran Church and School warmly welcome neighbors out to their afternoon activities. The church and facilities, developed on 46 acres, borders Candlelight Oaks and West Tidwell creating a spiritual and educational anchor for the neighborhood.

The wide paths along Cole Creek and White Oak Bayou provide residents and their pets with many hours of enjoyment; including walking, biking, bird-watching, turtle-watching, and many other activities.
